Kinny featured in one of the first casts of GODSPELL, at Wyndhams in the West End, and then on tour, initially for H.M.Tennent and then for Cameron Mackintosh.  Having appeared in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW in the Kings Road, before it was a blood sport, Kinny went on to enjoy a year at The St Martin’s Theatre playing Christopher Wren in AGATHA CHRISTIE’S THE MOUSETRAP.

Repertory and touring roles include Rossingol in MARAT/SADE, Master of Ceremonies in CABARET, Jenny Diver in THE THREEPENNY OPERA, Balladeer in ASSASSINS, Mary Sunshine in CHICAGO, Samuel in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, Barry Kent in ADRIAN MOLE, Lycas the Herald in THE WOMEN OF TRACHIS, Mr Krumpacker in T S Eliot’s SWEENY AGONISTES, Syphilla in CAFÉ DEBRIS and Eros in PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE (was it really the worst musical in the world?)

He has created numerous roles including The Dancing Master in Rikki Fulton’s A WEE TOUCH OF CLASS for the Edinburgh International Festival , Pistol in FALSTAFF’S REVENGE for Kaboodle Theatre Exchange, Bette/ Jane in BLANCHE AND BUTCH for Birds of Paradise, Mr Mesmo in EDMUND THE LEARNED PIG at The Royal Exchange Manchester, and Jeff in the original Scottish tour of WHISKY KISSES.

Recent original cast album recordings include ‘THE RHYTHMICS’, playing Sid.

No stranger to Pantomime, he’s played most Dames, and lots of Ugly Sisters.
